Hominy Mamas Concert At ONK Park 5/4/2014

The Hominy Mamas will give a free concert under the new gazebo at ONK Park on May 4, 2014 at 2:30 pm. The park is located at 412 E. Oklahoma Ave. The Hominy Mamas put on a great show for kids of all ages, filled with opportunities to participate and turn all kinds of everyday objects into musical instruments. You don’t want to miss this fun event for the kids.

“The Hominy Mamas are an energetic duo who specialize in music for the young at heart. Using the banjo, fiddle, guitar, rattletrap and their voices, the two often weave a story into their performance. Kathleen McGregor Williams and Ruth Simmons, both from the Norris/Clinton area, have performed together throughout the region for 15 years in a variety of venues. They can be found regularly performing at the Museum of Appalachia for busloads of school children. They also participate in the summer library reading program in the counties of Eastern Tennessee. There have also been Hominy sightings at schools, churches, nursing homes and festivals.”
